Alliance Display at Esri UC a Success
The Alliance for Public Gardens GIS was invited to showcase the GIS work of public gardens at the 2012 Esri International User Conference in San Diego, CA in mid-July to an estimated attendance of over 15,000 GIS users from around the world. The display featured the work of the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Desert Botanical Garden, Missouri Botanical Garden, Montgomery Botanical Center, San Diego Zoo, and UC Davis Arboretum, as well as general informational panels about the public gardens and their mission, Botanical Gardens Conservation International, the Center for Plant Conservation, the APGG, and the ArcGIS Public Garden Data Model. We would like to send a special thank you out to Mia Ingolia of the APGG and UC Davis Arboretum for coordinating this year's display, to all of the public gardens that contributed, and to Esri for giving us the opportunity to participate.
